ARN refers to Application Reference Number. It is a unique number assigned to each transaction completed at the GST Common Portal. It will also be generated on submission of the Enrolment Application that is electronically signed using DSC. ARN can be used for future correspondence with GSTN.
If you don’t receive ARN within 15 minutes of submission of the Enrolment Application, an e-mail will be sent to you with detailed instructions for further course of action.
On submission of the gst registration application, you will be given an Application Reference Number (ARN).
You can track status of your application by tracking this ARN. To view status of your ARN perform the following steps:
1. Goto: https://www.gstsearch.in/arn-status.html
2. In the ARN field, enter the ARN received on your e-mail address when you submitted the registration application.
3. In the Captcha, the characters you see in the image below the field, enter the captcha text.
4. Click the SEARCH button.

The GST application has been assigned to an Officer. The application is pending on Government side with an Officer for processing.
The processing officer has requested clarification on the GST registration application filed. You should submit the clarification through the GST Portal at the earliest.
In this case, a clarification has been filed by the applicant for the concerns raised by the GST Officer. You can expect an order soon.
In this case, a clarification was not filed by the applicant within the time provided. An order rejecting the GST registration application will most likely be passed by the GST Officer.
GST registration application has been approved by the GST Officer. You will receive the GSTIN and GST registration application shortly.
GST registration application has been rejected by the GST Officer. You will have to apply again, if you need a GST registration.
